He sits there, stoned face. His glass in one hand, the bottle in the other. He sits there, not just heartbroken, but every organ his body was made of was broken. Sitting in a lonely room, on a dark unlighted night. It seemed like stars ran away and the moon shut his light just to suit the man’s mood. He drank his first shot, second, third, forth.. What kind of alcohol was it? He should’ve been at least dizzy by now. He continued drinking.
Suicide thoughts decorated his dark mysterious mind. The picture of him hanging from a rope tied around his tattooed neck made him surprisingly happy. But no, it was a cowardice way to die.
Pills. He should take pills. That’s what he wanted. There had been hundreds of them, pills that his wife used to take but forgot to pack when she left him, better yet, dumped him.
By his 11th shot, he couldn’t stand up. Tears started falling down from his eyes, racing to his cheeks, and landing on his lips. Those tears, wished they were blood.
His hand shivering, his heart pounding and racing inside his chest, the world never seemed to feel like a happy place to him, even when he was stoned and drunk .
“What a shitty world!
What a shitty, shitty world. Goddamn!”
He lifts his face, starring at the picture facing him.
A beautiful, angel-like 5 year old boy. His hair were rays of sunshine, and his eyes were ocean drops of water.. Light light blue. His cheeks were pinkish, and his lips were so little yet so full.
The man lost control as soon as he lied eyes on the picture.
“Why god why?! Why did you have to take him away from me! My son and then my wife ?! What are you trying to tell me God?! I should be left alone, a hopeless useless man left for dead ! “
The man has lost it. He lost his family first, son and wife.. And now, he lost his mind.
He found the piece of strength left within him, made his way to the bathroom, lied on the floor and open the drawer.
He took every single piece of pill he had found. Every last one of them.
Putting a pill in his mouth, and drinking a shot of Whiskey afterwards.
The man then lied his head on the floor, closed his eyes, and never opened them again falling into his eternal sleep.
He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger
And finally drank away her memory
Life is short but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees
We found him with his face down in the pillow
With a note that said I’ll love her till I die
And when we buried him beneath the willow
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby….
A beautiful read.
